স্বস্তি [ sbasti ] অব্য. বি. 1 মঙ্গল হোক বা পাপা দূর হোক; এই আশীর্বাদ; আশীর্বচনযুক্ত মন্ত্র (স্বাস্তিপাঠ); 2 শুভ, মঙ্গল; সন্তোষ। ☐ বি. নির্ঝঞ্ঝাট অবস্থা, উদ্বেগহীনতা, আরাম (সুখের চেয়ে স্বস্তি ভালো, স্বস্তির নিশ্বাস, স্বস্তিতে ঘুমানো)। [সং. সু + √ অস্ + তি]। ~বচন বি. মঙ্গলকর্মারম্ভে মঙ্গলকথন বা স্বস্তি-শব্দের উচ্চারণ। ~মুখ বি. (স্বস্তিবচন পাঠ করে বলে) ব্রাহ্মণ। সুখের চেয়ে স্বস্তি ভালো উদ্বেগপূর্ণ সচ্ছল অবস্থা অপেক্ষা নির্ঝঞ্ঝাট দরিদ্রজীবন ভালো।
